Meerut Murder Mystery: Black Magic, Money Transfers, and a Chilling Crime Unfold

Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking case that has rattled the nation, Uttar Pradesh Police have uncovered a chilling murder mystery involving elements of black magic, financial fraud, and premeditated killing in the city of Meerut.

The case began when a decomposed body was discovered in a locked room of a house in Shastri Nagar. What initially appeared to be a domestic dispute quickly escalated into a high-profile murder investigation as officers uncovered strange ritualistic items, mysterious symbols on the walls, and multiple suspicious money transfers linked to the victim’s account.

The Victim and the Suspects

The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Ravi Verma, was an IT professional working remotely. Police investigations have pointed to his former roommate and alleged spiritual practitioner, Ajay Thakur, as the mastermind. Ajay had reportedly convinced Ravi to participate in occult rituals for “wealth manifestation.” However, things took a dark turn when Ravi began questioning the financial transactions linked to his account.

Black Magic and Fraud

During raids at Ajay’s residence, police recovered objects often associated with black magic — including skull replicas, strange powders, candles, and red-inked notebooks with coded symbols. A laptop seized from the location revealed a series of bank transfers amounting to ₹32 lakhs from Ravi’s account to Ajay and his accomplices over a span of six months.

“This is a rare case where black magic and financial crime intersect,” said Meerut SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan. “The psychological manipulation and spiritual exploitation were as shocking as the act of murder itself.”

The Final Act

According to preliminary reports, Ravi was drugged and strangled to death during what was described as a “final offering ritual.” His body was then left locked in his room, with air fresheners and incense sticks used to mask the odor. Neighbors raised the alarm after noticing a foul smell and zero activity from the house for days.

Public Outrage and Political Reactions

The incident has sparked public outrage, with local residents demanding justice and stricter laws against exploitative spiritual practices. Politicians have also weighed in, with several calling for the regulation of unlicensed spiritual healers and godmen.

Media Frenzy

News channels and social media platforms have been abuzz with theories and analysis. Hashtags like #MeerutMurder, #BlackMagicCrime, and #JusticeForRavi have been trending since the case broke.

The police are now awaiting forensic reports and are expected to file charges under sections related to murder, fraud, criminal conspiracy, and superstition-linked exploitation. Meanwhile, Ajay Thakur and two others remain in custody under intense interrogation.

This chilling case has left an indelible mark on the minds of many — a stark reminder of how blind faith and manipulation can spiral into horror.
